Description

He was sent to eliminate a threat. He found the one woman he can’t let go.

Navy SEAL Bowie "Ruckus" Cooper is no stranger to high-risk missions, but nothing prepares him for finding a captured American reporter deep in hostile territory. Now separated from his team, protecting Dana Sorenson becomes his new priority—whether she likes it or not.

Dana’s fearless reporting brought her to the edge of danger. Ruckus pushes her right over it. He’s gruff, commanding, and way too sexy for a man who gives orders like they’re law. But surviving the jungle is nothing compared to surviving him.

He’s her only shot at getting out alive. She might be his only shot at something real.

Forced proximity. Relentless danger. Off-the-charts chemistry.

Ruckus kicks off the adrenaline-fueled SEAL Team Alpha series—perfect for fans of alpha protectors, fierce heroines, and heart-pounding romance.

  • Not for me

This unfortunately did not really work for me. Bowie and Dana were okay as characters, but the chemistry felt off between the two of them. At the beginning of the book some of Bowie's internal dialogue was inappropriate for their situation. Then there was his insistence on calling her cupcake even when she asked him not to in order to annoy her. Plus, it stretched credulity for them to be running for their lives from drug runners through the jungle and they stop to have sex. What?!?! That seriously makes no sense. Also, the ending with Bowie's mom felt too nonsensical to be realistic. One meeting and all of the pain and bad feelings are just over? The whole "solution" just felt rushed and not well thought out. Since I seem to be in the minority maybe this book just wasn't for me. YMMV Warnings: attempted rape, domestic violence

I liked all the action and the characters. The military angle was interesting and kept me on edge until the end. Great read.

Poorly written and structured . The characters were nauseating at best, especially “Dana” whom the reader would rather see left behind in the jungle for her overall ignorance and stupidity. Absolutely loved the “plight of immigrants” crap story line shovelled to the reader.... oh geez... I think I just barfed into my mouth again🤢

This was a good start to the series. Dana did drive me crazy though. Sometimes I liked her and sometimes I just wanted to smack her.
