Description

A New York Times, USA Today, and Publishers Weekly bestseller

“This character-driven romance will enthrall [Rivers’s] many fans.” ―Library Journal

The New York Times bestselling author of Redeeming Love returns to her romance roots with this unexpected and redemptive love story, a probing tale with spiritual depth that reminds us that mercy can shape even the most broken among us into an imperfect yet stunning masterpiece.

A successful LA artist, Roman Velasco appears to have everything he could possibly want―money, women, fame. Only Grace Moore, his reluctant, newly hired personal assistant, knows how little he truly has. The demons of Roman’s past seem to echo through the halls of his empty mansion and out across his breathtaking Topanga Canyon view. But Grace doesn’t know how her boss secretly wrestles with those demons: by tagging buildings as the Bird, a notorious but unidentified graffiti artist―an alter ego that could destroy his career and land him in prison.

Like Roman, Grace is wrestling with ghosts and secrets of her own. After a disastrous marriage threw her life completely off course, she vowed never to let love steal her dreams again. But as she gets to know the enigmatic man behind the reputation, it’s as if the jagged pieces of both of their pasts slowly begin to fit together . . . until something so unexpected happens that it changes the course of their relationship―and both their lives―forever.

The Masterpiece is perfect for fans of:

• Clean contemporary romance

“Rivers deftly threads Roman’s and Grace’s lives together as they tiptoe around their emotional scars, eventually shifting into a dance of tentative steps toward a love neither can resist. Fans of Christian romance will delight in this tale of salvation through love.”

a novel that intertwines deep, flawed characters with a redemptive journey that mirrors the road to salvation. The book follows two complex people —Roman Velasco, a successful yet tormented artist, and Grace Moore, a woman seeking stability after a painful past. Their stories unfold with masterful pacing, each twist and revelation adding layers to their transformation. Roman, haunted by his childhood trauma, hides behind wealth and talent, while Grace, despite her own scars, strives to live out her faith with integrity. Their dynamic is both compelling and heart-wrenching, making every moment of their journey feel personal and real. Rivers has a gift for weaving biblical themes into a novel that is not only easy to read but also deeply moving. The story doesn’t preach; instead, it invites the reader to experience redemption through the characters’ eyes. And just when you think you know where the story is headed, Rivers delivers unexpected twists, keeping you engaged. Masterpiece is exactly that—a masterpiece. It’s a book that not only entertains but also stirs the soul, reminding us of God’s relentless pursuit of our hearts. Must read.

Such a good novel! Francine does a wonderful job of describing the main characters and their backstory as well as the journey they are currently on. Wonderfully written and as a Christian you can relate to the characters so much and easily get what the author is trying to get relate - that Jesus it’s all through Jesus and because of Jesus!

If you can't find a good book, this is the one to choose. Most times the beginning of a story is sometimes hard to get into but I promise you after you start you wont regret it.. Rivers did and excellent job of building the mysterious Roman Velasco and his story together. Amazing storyline and mysteries unfold that you never seen coming, in fact when you checkout the backstory and how this book came to be, it's so mind blowing how it connected with this book. And the details and other characters' stories and how they come together makes the story even more intriguing. Worth every penny, and has such a good way of displaying a relationship and realistic conversation between us and the Lord. You might even get saved from reading this.. Highly recommend, this book. Best one i've ever read and also good for those who like modern stories. Excellent!

I couldn’t put this book down. I’m a Christian and so many thoughts went through my mind with each and every character. I even saw myself a time or two. Every book Francine writes is excellent in my opinion. I’m one of her biggest fans. It’s all about Jesus Christ even when you cannot see Him. I hope everyone reads this book, because it shows us how to keep Jesus first in everything, trusting Him when you pray to Him. God bless everyone who reads this book. 🙏

I was encouraged to read this after finishing “Redeeming Love” and it did not disappoint! It is very lengthy, but every detail matters and I enjoyed every minute of it. A perfect representation of God’s love for us.
  • Two broken people made whole through Christ!

The story of two broken people, Roman & Grace is a similar story to many of God’s people. Francine truly brings a hope and allows the reader to feel empathy for the life Roman was exposed to. Grace who strives to be obedient but is taken over at times by temptation is definitely relatable. We simply are not perfect people. With our love for Christ, our striving to hear from and being obedient to the Holy Spirit; He can begin to change us from the inside out (no matter where God pulled us out from). I absolutely love Grace’s friends and how Francis portrays them as imperfect people just trying to get through life with Christ. If you are just a sinner saved by God’s grace you will enjoy this read, and when you are finished you will have a renewed hope!
  • NOT Redeeming Love, but a nice one.

I love Francine Rivers books — I was originally introduced to her as an author through The Mark of the Lion series (still in my top 5 favorites)! I believe I’ve read everything she has written as a Christian writer. I started this book late last night and finished it today — I could barely put it down! No matter where you are on your Christian/faith walk you will get something out of everyone of her books. She introduces you to relatable, flawed — seemingly real life people and reminds you — that no matter where are it’s never to late to turn your life over and/or back to God. For by grace you have been saved by faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are his workmanship/masterpiece, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk with hm. — Ephesians 2:8-10 Never think you are too far gone — or that God cannot save you. It’s never too late — even if/when you have to turn your life over to Him each morning — he gives us free will — we have a choice. Do yourself a favor and read this book — or read all of them. My top 5 in alpha order: The Atonement Child Leota’s Garden The Mark of The Lion Series Marta’s Legacy Series Masterpiece
