Description

Time is running out…

After defeating the uprising, and becoming infected with a dose of Plush, Holly is in a race to help a seeker before it’s too late. Going South is the only option. But getting there is going to prove difficult, which is why Lockland has entrusted Daze with a secret weapon.

A pulse storm, overzealous militia, and uncooperative siblings are only a few of the obstacles standing in their way. Once they arrive on the coast, the prospect of finding the supplies they need dwindles. But what they uncover may be far richer. A way to move the remaining survivors forward.

But the people of the town don’t see it that way. They want to protect what’s theirs. With the militia closing in, they do the only thing they have left to do, fight.

This is the third book in the Holly Danger series. Holly, Daze, and Case have to leave the city and travel a great distance to find an ingredient in the cure for Plush. Case is from the area which may be to their detriment. When they arrive, things are not as easy as it may seem, and nothing goes as planned. Will they find the needed ingredient, or will everything fall apart? Each book has its own small contained plot, and there is still a larger, overreaching plot. The one in this book changes everything, at least to this point. I love how every book seems to get better and better. I also love how well-written each book is, and the way each book is like the pieces of a puzzle slowly being put together. Ms. Carlson has a wonderful way with words, and she uses that to great effect in plot, characters, and scenery. In this installment, we get a greater look at how this society has fractured, and how difficult it is to live on the outskirts, and the ways people can take advantage of that. Getting out of Holly’s city gave me a greater appreciation of life in her city. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series because I can’t wait to see what the author has in store. You really need to start this series if you love the dystopian genre, and if you are already a fan of this series, you’ll love this latest. Highly recommend! Thanks to the author for the e-book which I reviewed voluntarily.
