Paediatic Emergencies Intubation Course Manual

Emergency intubation of the critically ill child is one of the most dangerous interventions that a clinician can perform. Even in ideal conditions intubation carries significant risks, including death. Successful intubation requires a cohesive and skilful multidisciplinary team.

Unlike many airway courses, which often focus on fine-tuning the skills of airway experts, the Paediatric Emergencies Intubation Course seeks to improve patient safety by providing a multi-disciplinary audience with the basic skills, knowledge and behaviours needed to care for the sickest children. The course is unique in benefiting both those with existing adult based airway skills as well as healthcare professionals  who may not have received previous training.
