Description

Philip Glass, early protagonist of the Minimalist movement, studied with Milhaud and Nadia Boulanger. His first job, assisting Ravi Shankar on a film soundtrack, heralded the start of his own successful cinema career, and to date he has scored over fifty movies.

First Classics contains five of Glass's ground-breaking works from the late 1960s. Performable by anything from solo to large group, with flexible tempos, durations, repeats and ensembles, these show the burgeoning talent of a true master composer.

This beautifully engraved and carefully arranged title also includes introductory notes, performance notes for each piece and source notes.
