Reviews
A fun series... 11 books in!
4By Jaymy M.Wow, are we really 11 books in? Where did the time go? Since these folks aren't really McGavin, perhaps the series should be rebranded with the town name? I enjoyed this one, but would like to have followed this pair just a little further into the future, to see the transition of instant family. The end, to me seemed abrupt, even rushed... although with a kid in the picture and the forest fire that blazes between them, perhaps quicker is better. This book takes place over about 1-2 weeks, which is almost as long as Emma and Gage's initial fling lasted. I like that he couldn't get her out of his head after more than a year, so he goes lookin for her. That's all before he knows he's a dad. Of course, his sudden appearance would be surprising to anyone after that time. Hate that she shut the door in his face without telling him about Josh, but she makes it right. How she knows how to track him to his dad's new hometown, we don't know, but she does get lucky and stumbles on him. This one involves two grown people being grown ups together, with nearly a whole community rooting for them. I like that they aren't bitter and hateful. They just are and deal. Who knew people could just be without being spiteful and ugly or broken.
