This is Blessing’s story. I must admit I was horrified at some of the things this poor child had experienced. The abuse at the hands of her psychotic ex-boyfriend who had also been her pimp opened my eyes to a world of exploitation that I couldn't even imagine. As she recalled her experiences, I found myself wondering why she allowed Jarrod to continue to have power over her. I came to the realization that she had never been given the tools to break away from that kind of manipulation. While she now is supposedly free, the ropes that bind her to him seem impossible to break. There are plenty of twists and turns in this incredible story. The fact that God is always there, waiting for us with arms wide open is a recurring theme throughout the book, reminding us that forgiveness is there, we need only ask.
