Description
What do you do when you want the one person you can never have?
Get in and get out. That was India Robidoux’s plan for this family visit. But when her brother needs her help with his high-profile political campaign, India has no choice but to stay and face the one man she’s been running from for years—Travis, her sister’s ex-husband. One hot summer night when Travis was still free, they celebrated her birthday with whiskey and an unforgettable kiss. The memory is as strong as ever—and so are the feelings she’s tried so hard to forget.
Travis Strickland owes everything to the Robidoux family. There’s nothing he wouldn’t do for them—his divorce could never change that. Still, he has one regret. Impulsive and passionate, India always understood him better than anyone else. And the longer they work together on the campaign, the more torn he is. Coming between her and her sister is out of the question. But how can he let love pass him by a second time?

Just beautiful!
5By RosyPosy9327I want to give this book 10 stars!! This book was amazing! There is definitely a severe lack in publicized and mainstream Black love stories, so finding this one in my recommended section was incredible. The characters were so real and the conflict was believable and engaging. I loved India and Travis and getting to hear their POVs made the story that much more amazing. The successful yet flawed family was also very interesting with all of the family members having distinct personalities that draw you in. I look forward to reading the other books in this series! Thank you Synithia for this beautiful story!!!Forbidden Promises
3By PalatableDinnerThis book was a decent read. I appreciated that it portrays love in a complex way in that it’s not the only thing that matters in life. However, it did feel like I was needlessly placed in an echo chamber for most of the book. Even though India had left home for 4 years to make a life for herself, she somehow had no connections outside of the family which would have helped with this. Despite repeated claims of having missed being home and that her siblings were supportive of her, it’s never really illustrated why or how. A vast majority of the book is spent doing the opposite, which makes it harder to empathize with her “conflicted” feelings about pretty much everything.Loved it!
5By MMarie7The plot was a bit predictable but was rooting for Travis until the end!
