Description

I have always been bullied and trapped in darkness. I hoped life would get better when I moved to my mother's hometown, but it only got worse because it was there that I met my unrequited crush, Hayden Black.

He despised me from day one, and even more when I became best friends with his twin, Kayden. Kayden gave light to my life, but my happiness with him lasted only until one night two years ago.

That night Kayden died because of me.

Half of me died with him. The other half was left to bleed, suffering Hayden's and his friends' constant bullying.

Now I must endure one more year before I can finally escape them and go to college. This year has to be different.

Either I will become stronger, or they will finally break me into nothing.

Warning: This book contains mature and sensitive themes such as abuse, violence, and offensive language. It includes situations that may be triggering for some readers, so caution is advised.

It was completely unexpected that this novel would take me for a ride along feelings I would prefer not to experience. I tend not to like characters still in high school because I have a hard time relating but that was not apparent here. This book unveiled a view of mental disorder not commonly talked about. I experienced the pain, the happiness, even the confusion of Sarah and I hurt for her and rejoiced when she stood up for herself. I read this in less than two hours and I would read again.

I read this on Wattpad but it was the first draft. I loved how everything was the same, just minor changes of the characters names but all in all I loved it! I read all of the books on Wattpad and I cannot wait to read damaged, trapped, and scarred on here.

I loved this book on so many levels. I’m so glad that mental illness was discussed and explained in such a real way. As well bringing to light the growing issues with bullying and cyber bullying in schools. I need book 2 now! I need to know what happens next with these powerful yet fragile characters. Please don’t make us wait years!!

Bullied is book one of the bullied series. There is so many things I want to say about this book. For starters, I’m very picky about books that I read. When I read a book I want to feel the emotion the main character is going through. I want to feel what they are feeling. I want to think what they are thinking. This book was that for me. I could not stop reading this book. Be ready for an emotional rollercoster. Sarah is just a girl who is wanting nothing, but peace in her life. She has been bullied her whole life no matter where she goes. It’s just her and her mother so they move to another town in hopes for a better life, but unfortunate events prevent that. She meets her best friend Kayden whom has a twin brother named Hayden. A tragedy happens and it leaves Sarah being bullied by pretty much everyone including Hayden and his friends. Life at home for Sarah isn’t great either. She feels like nothing is going right for her. She is counting down the days until she goes to college so she can get away from everyone. When it seemed like Sarah didn’t have anyone in her corner a new girl comes to her school named Jessica. During an incident in the cafeteria, both girls sort of form a bond due to both of them being bullied. It couldn’t have came at a better time for them both because both girls are hated by two of the powerful boys in school. Sarah later meets Mel a friend we all would want on our side. She’s a friend who will put people in their place when they need it. She’s definitely completely opposite of Sarah and Jessica, but I think she’s someone both girls need on their side. Heck in real life I think we all need a Mel in our lives. While Sarah is finally making new friends and trying to make best of her life until she goes to college. She still has to endure the hatred from her bullies. Slowly you start to see her getting stronger, but it doesn’t come easy for her. I could go on and on about this book, but I don’t want to spoil anything for the new readers. All I have to say is PLEASE GIVE THIS BOOK A CHANCE! I think it will surprise you. It will give a look into what it’s like to live a life being bullied. You will find yourself wanting to know more about each character. The author, Vera, has a way of pulling you in from the very first page. From putting this book on Wattpad to getting it published is a very big thing. ***I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.***

This book has every aspect of realism and drama that will keep you up at night wanting more and more. The author really takes you on an emotional roller coaster with this one. I’ve never truly held onto my heart while reading a book so much in my life. It is truly a work of art and I can’t wait for the full series to be published because the author deserves as much recognition as she can possibly receive. #NewYorkBestsellerComingSoon
