What a Scot Wants

What A Scot Wants is book 3 in A Tartans & Titans Novel series by Amalie Howard and Angie Morgan. I have to say, I am in awe of this story. I started it and couldn’t put it down. I realize that it is in a series, but it truly can be read as a stand alone. I haven’t read any of the other books, but I am definitely planning to go back and read the others. There is so much to say about this story. I found myself laughing out loud in the beginning and then biting my nails in the end. It has humor, romance, danger and steamy scenes. “The soft velvet of her lips reached into him, silencing his brain and stilling time. Imogen’s mouth parted on a delayed gasp of surprise, and the world went tumbling forward again. Ronan froze, aware and yet utterly paralyzed. He hadn’t meant to kiss her...but her scent had filled his nostrils, and the heat of her body had risen with her temper, and that lush, caustic mouth of hers had taunted him to indecency.” I truly feel that I have discovered a treasure in Howard and Morgan’s writing. I can’t wait to read more.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Entangled Publishing via NetGalley and I am voluntarily reviewing it. This book was a wonderful story and I wished that I could give it more stars than 5. It reminds me of why I LOVE historical romance. I took my time reading this as I was savoring it. These two characters were a joy to read. What they were going to do next kept me glued to my e-reader. Both Highlander Ronan Maclaren and Lady Imogen Kinley are being forced to marry. Neither of them have married due to incidents in each of their past. Neither can they forfeit for it they do, each will lose something valuable to them. They have to get the other to cry off. They were hilarious in their early attempts. I could really picture the scenes as the writers really did great job in giving just enough description and left the rest for me to fill in. The journey to a HEA was filled with laughs, intrigue, mystery and prior love interests on each side. I adored the dual POV format that the story is written in. Getting that glimpse into the thoughts behind the characters' actions really helped me to connect with them. It also allowed me to see the chemistry between them. I have not read any of the prior books in this series or the books in the other series that dealt with Ronan's family. That didn't impede me from enjoying this story. There was one scene that could make offend some. It was of a sexual scene that was written in a manner that really should not offend as it left much more to the reader's imagination. If you love historical romance, then this is one for you. I highly recommend it!!!
