Description

It’s better to have loved and lost, they said. They were wrong.
Ruby Freedman hasn’t left the small town of Amor in four years--not since her husband died. The memory of his fateful accident was enough to cause her to sell her airplane, and never ride in a car again. Then Parker Loveland comes back to town. Now she has to add him to her list of things she intends to avoid.
After years away, Parker Loveland is back in Amor to celebrate his parents’ thirtieth wedding anniversary. He has worked hard to escape the clutches of his hometown, but when he runs into Ruby, the only girl he cared about in high school, and the only one that ever stood him up on a date, he’s torn between the embarrassment he felt more than a decade before, and his desire to be around her.
Caught between memories of the past and fear of the future, it will take leaving Amor to help Ruby and Parker find the second chance they didn’t know they were looking for.
Borrowing Love is the second book in the Borrowing Amor small-town romance series. If you like hot air balloons, sweet kisses, and second chances, then you’ll love this timeless romance.

Great story line. Author’s flow of events leading to the ens was great. I love endings such as this one. Love is not always easy but when it prevails for two lost souls it is worth the wait.

This was my first book in the series and I loved it. After haviing had family members who were killed in a plane crash and having been in a scary car accident I can totally relate to what Ruby was going through. It was so inspiring to see her work to overcome her fears and the see the power of love. I really liked the setting in NM and the hot air balloons.

This is another winner for Kat Bellemore. I love how her characters are so human with their own hurdles to deal with, yet so lovable. Be prepared to hunker down and keep turning the pages as it’s hard to put down! There are surprises and humor to keep it fresh and original.

This is one of my favorite books in the Borrowing Amor series. I loved the theme of hot air balloons and learned a lot. I love that with these books I get some fun romance, with some learning of different subjects, and the characters have depth.
  • Overcoming Fears

Ruby is afraid to fly and ride in a car after her parents died in a car accident and her husband in a plane crash. Parker has a crush on Ruby, but he’s upset over her standing him up for a date. Her feels bad when he realizes it is her fears and his cologne that made her do it. Parker was a jerk at first and I was surprised Ruby would agree to go on an overnight trip with him with her fears and not knowing him well and that he would book only one hotel room. Funny moments in this book overcame some of the awkwardness.
  • Thrilling story!

I am so much thrilled with this story. After starting it, sleeping the night, I had to finish it before doing anything else. I think the struggles Ruby is facing after three deaths is so true to life. Some people just are so bound up with fears that they isolate themselves. But Parker comes back into her life and it’s “game on”. He is just the right person for her. He has his issues that create a little “hick-up” & that is needed for him to get over his “marriage has to be perfect“. You have to read this story. Kate Bellemore is one of my favorite authors.
