Description

All Josie Ryan wanted was some cake. She didn’t mean to flambé a man's life.
Okay, she may have started the teeny little fight that cost the head baker his job. Guess she’ll just have to make it up to the incredibly hot grump by helping him open his own shop. (What, like it's hard?)
But Erik Andersson has bigger problems than losing his dream gig, and they're all wrapped up in the gorgeous PR whiz who’s promising to turn him into Chicago's premiere wedding cake baker.
Josie's loud. She's pushy. And worst of all, she's so gorgeous he can barely remember his name when she's around.
Their partnership's strictly professional, but Erik knows that someday he's going to slip.
Someday he's going to bury his fingers in her fiery red hair and show her how perfectly his salty and her sweet fit together.
"Definitely one of my top 10 favorite book boyfriends of all time.” Laurie, Laurie Reads Romance
Grab this steamy opposites-attract romance about a quiet baker who saves his sweetest, filthiest words for the feisty PR whiz he never wanted to fall for. Tempting Taste is book 1 in the award-winning Cinnamon Roll Alphas series.

Enjoyed reading this book from beginning to end. I highly recommend it! Normally if a book doesn’t capture my interest from the start, I don’t finish it. This one is one of the best books I read and I have been reading for years.

This book is awesome! It’s been too long since I’ve read a book that gave me so many emotions. I didn’t want to put it down to sleep! The characters are so real. I could feel their pain and joy. I can’t wait to see if this author can move me again with another story!

I loved this story of Eric and Josie. It was very funny and lots of love going on. The way all the friends were just that friends no matter what. Definitely recommend this book 📖 wonderful! I wanted to just keep reading about them.

This story appears to be a commentary on the Masterpiece Cakeshop incident in 2012. The author demonstrates a conscious effort to subvert queer tropes and addresses stigma following people without degrees. Research is evident in the writing, the banter is fun, and characters are given the time needed to develop, Josie with her anger issues and Erik with his anxiety, though this is somewhat conflated with introversion. Can be read as a standalone. Having said that, the story plays into the “not their type” cliche and at times events broke the immersion. Erik’s self-sabotage could’ve been more organic as well as his sudden word vomit at Richard’s wedding, and his big fight with Josie felt like a show moment that got told. Josie repeatedly insisting Erik use his looks to promote his business despite him vehemently saying no multiple times is problematic, especially since it has nothing to do with baking and therefore isn’t essential for his bakery to succeed. This is overlooked in favor of revisiting Josie’s issues with her mother and leaning into the whole “I’m not their type” cliche. While Josie does eventually redesign his logo, it’s not until after the original has already been widely circulated, and is tied up with the bow of “Josie was right all along” and “the end justified the means”. In the end she effectively compromised on nothing. On another note: “chai tea” is redundant.

I have not read books in many years because of my busy schedule and low attention span, but this book held my interest so much that I finished it before I was ready for it to be over. The characters and story line were great. I loved this books.

I made it through 20% of the book and couldn’t take it anymore! Josie the feisty redhead is too desperate to become friends with Erik (a feisty redhead wouldn’t be desperate)…..He is so rude and any self respecting women would have said bye immediately

What a captivating book…kept me up until 2:30 a.m. because I couldn’t put it down. Sassy and sexy, this was an awesomely entertaining read. Endearing characters, with a couple maddeningly unlovable ones thrown in the mix. Something for everyone!!

I’ve been in a reading funk for a while, especially with romance. But this book made me fall in love again. My heart glowed! I stayed up all night and am definitely going to hate myself at work today. Really liked the portrayal of character development, friendship, and yes, romance. Just a few small notes (spoilers incoming!) Given the emphasis on Erik’s shy demeanor, it would’ve been more realistic for him to not also be so confident in bed. Maybe that’s something they could’ve discovered together. I think Erik should’ve fought harder and apologized sooner after the whole “I’m engaged fiasco.” I know he eventually did, bit it should’ve been more and sooner. Overall though, a really good read for free!

A fiery red head and a grumpy hottie.... yes please. I love this second installment in the Tempting series. Josie and Erik kept me entertained and turning pages. Erik is definitely being ranked highly on my list of book boyfriends. Thank you, Sara for the arc!

The moment Josie met Erik on a train a spark was lit. The next time she saw the giant gorgeous man was at bakery tasting wedding cakes. Who doesn’t love giant gorgeous men with man buns that can bake delicious cake? This book was so cute. I love Josie so much and my heart breaks for her that she doesn’t know how great she is and Erik, well I want to know where I can find one of him. The two are such opposites but still perfect for each other in every way. So you are left with good writing, a good, cute story with a great couple, some amazing side characters that you will want more of, and a HEA. What more could you want? Unfortunately we can’t try the delicious cakes described but I guess you can’t have everything.... *** I did receive a free copy of this book in exchange for fair and honest review***
