Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission—and if he fails, humanity and the earth itself will perish.
Except that right now, he doesn’t know that. He can’t even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it.
All he knows is that he’s been asleep for a very, very long time. And he’s just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.
His crewmates dead, his memories fuzzily returning, Ryland realizes that an impossible task now confronts him. Hurtling through space on this tiny ship, it’s up to him to puzzle out an impossible scientific mystery—and conquer an extinction-level threat to our species.
And with the clock ticking down and the nearest human being light-years away, he’s got to do it all alone.
Or does he?
An irresistible interstellar adventure as only Andy Weir could deliver, Project Hail Mary is a tale of discovery, speculation, and survival to rival The Martian—while taking us to places it never dreamed of going.

A MUST read!!
5By Super amazing app really happyThis book was AMAZING, truly one of the best sci fi books there is with emotional, funny and intelligent interesting writing! Will recommend to everyone I knowIntelligent Sci-Fi
5By ijbhgutfgFor people that enjoy a fast paced book full of science, this guy is the best.Amaze!
5By HAJS29Amaze. Personally, I thought it would be a tall order for Andy Weir to break out of the shackles of The Martian and provide readers with someone better, he managed to do just that. While this book is generally realistic science fiction, the inclusion of intelligent alien life let the author play around with the science and make new rules, which I felt only added to the immersion. It also allowed for a setting that changed progressively throughout the story, showing how the characters were developing their environment bit by bit to allow for the scientific breakthrough for the astrophage dilemma, despite the setting of the book effectively being a mini three story complex. Speaking of the characters, Ryland Grace was quirky and fun to delve in to, and Rocky is up there with my favorite characters of any book ever. His witty responses and knack for problem solving left me on the edge of my seat when a particular scene revolved around him. The only thing I look at with a hint of dissatisfaction is Stratt. She effectively murdered Ryland Grace, yet we don’t know what her fate turned out to be, though it is implied. I would’ve loved for Grace to go back to Earth and stick it to her, however that is simply not in his character. Is this book worth reading? In the words of Rocky: Yes! Yes, yes, yes!Top of the Line Hard Science Fiction!
5By Saint_Although this book is much more speculative than The Martian, it’s every bit as readable, fast paced, suspenseful, and delightful. I burned through it in just one week! The best part of all, of course, are the startliing science problems and their ingenious solutions. The characters are deep, fascinating, and endearing. I’m getting a hard copy of this book for my best of the best top shelf!!Amaze amaze amaze!
5By kronker007I love it.Non stop page turner!!
5By KWMTrumpetI finish this book in less than a week. Worth it!Phage
5By TapjabingThe entirety of the book is a great read. Assumed the book would climax at the discovery of eridians but it just got better.Captivating
4By ABQBlytheThere’s a whole Lotta science and if science isn’t your thing, just read it and don’t worry about being tested on it later. The science is there, but the story is bigger than that. It’s very moving. Fascinating I recommend it highly.Great book.
4By Whim1954I enjoyed the first person narrative like in The Martian. Unlike other reviewers, I enjoyed and was enlightened by the physics, biology and technical explanations that broadened my understanding of gravity and pendulums to cite a few. Never too old, or young, to learn stuff.True Science Fiction
5By Reed4uScience fiction in its truest sense. A tale of fiction embedded with science.Really satisfying
5By MxNitpickyGreat story, engaging characters, really interesting juxtaposition between past and present. Couldn’t put it down.Amazing

5By bookreaderdey123This book was so amazing! It kept me engaged and the constant switching between present and past kept me on the edge of my seat. I love sci fi books. These alien books and space travel have always held a special place in my heart because of the fact I love space. This book embodies my passion. And Rocky! Rocky was so funny. My heart jumped out of my chest when he almost died. Well I could talk about this book for ages but I’ll keep it a bit shortened. AMAZING 10/10 would recommend to anyone and everyone.Old lady review
4By Jan MLCVery Engaging not very memorable. Why the hype
2By 58 PistolI saw a lot of 5 star reviews for this book. I’ll never understand the hype. This book was very boring from start to finish. I really wanted it to get good, but it never did. I liked the ending, so there’s that.A wonderful read with a tiny caveat
5By hamiltonbdaI do think this was a truly enjoyable read, and a fascinating blend of science, curiosity, and humanity. I enjoy the perspective of the main protagonist, but I wish he would’ve made a slightly different choice at the very end. I just want to have that tangible resolution that it was all worth it, in the near future, rather than distant future. Spoiler Alert below Spoiler Alert * * * Personally, I would’ve liked to know how this momentous discovery affected Earth. That amazing, yet living, technological advancement would have unimaginable potential. I’m happy to know all was not lost, but I do wonder what the world would’ve looked like, if the writer would’ve returned us back to that post-mission environment.Good book
5By Bliky56789Very interesting! Keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole time.Amazing
