Description
Almost twenty years after the barrier between Earth and the Otherworld fell in the Fae Wars, Budapest is balancing on the precipice. A battle for dominance is brewing between the elite fae and the privileged humans in Eastern Europe. The prejudice between the sides is bubbling with hate and violence.
Nineteen-year-old human, Brexley, has grown up in privilege, but not without heartbreak. After being orphaned, she is taken in by General Markos, living in a walled city rife with power grabs and ruthless political games. Then one night the course of her life changes, and Brexley is thrown into the most feared prison in the east. Halalhaz, the House of Death—where you go in but don’t come out.
She must learn to live with the worst of fae and human criminals. The rule of hierarchy puts humans on the bottom, where the only way to survive each day is to make alliances with the fae.
Here she meets the sexy, vicious legend, Warwick Farkas. A myth among man and fae. He is as brutal, cruel, arrogant, and as lethal as the lore says he is, ruling the prison with unchallenged authority. Brexley can’t deny an intense draw to him, one that might cost her life.
If The Games don’t take her out first—
A fight to the death where only one survives.
Reviews
Addictive!
5By jeepinTiffLittle did I know this book was a gateway drug! I ripped through ALL of these within two weeks. I didn’t want to work or cook dinner, I just wanted to read. I had to know what happened next!Great read!
5By AwesomeE03Read it in 2 days… would have been quicker if I had time. That ending!!! I’m starting the next one right now!Great Read!!!
5By jewls-1999I was skeptical at primarily first cause of the price and a few of the reviews. The book is excellently written in my open, with touches of new school writing and a higher reading level. As someone who loves smut reading, I was a little sad we didn't get much of it, but we did get tones of very HOT tension and climax! I can't wait to read the 2nd book! But overall it is FANTASTIC!3.5
3By adryan <3it could’ve been written better, but definitely a good plotGreat book~ spoilers !
5By vbp_madisonThis is a dark book but written really well. I’m the type of person who wants to know what happens in a book before reading it so spoilers ahead!! The book starts off in a castle where the price and adoptive (main character) princess are robbing trains at night and going to galas in the day. The princess is told she must marry a man she hates so they go to rob a train one last time and get caught. The prince goes back to his life and the princess is in the worlds worst prison where she must kill to survive. The worst inmate breaks him and her out.. to use her as leverage for his freedom from the fae king.Good storyline
3By crywolf_I for the most part enjoyed the book but the sexual parts were too intense too fast and dragged a bit. I mostly just skimmed those parts. I am engaged enough to read the next one tho just because I like the whole layout of the post apocalyptic story she madeSo disappointed
1By nonickname for negativeI had heard great reviews of this on TikTok. I feel I was completely mislead. The book dragged on. I only finished bc I was hoping something would be worth it at the end.Stunning
5By This actually works! If you can get past the awful names such as Brexley (like what?) this book is amazing. From plot to lore to spice. The writing style is edible and leaves you wanting more and more. Can’t wait to read book two!Not reading on
1By csdenn1010To much weird sexual innuendo. The book just quit, I assume you are supposed to want to read on but the main character (from the next book teaser) will do the same thing with a new ‘amazing hunk’.Incredible
5By Llyons1Along the lines of the Arena 1 series and The Divergent series. Great story and engaging book.
