Description
CIA operative Dewey Andreas is America's last line of defense when terrorists take over Manhattan, targeting the U.N. and the President himself in The Island, the latest in this New York Times bestselling series by Ben Coes.
America is about to face the deadliest terrorist attack on it's soil since 9/11. Iran has been planning a revenge attack for years, with three goals in mind. Bring America to its knees. Assassinate the popular U.S. President J. P. Dellenbaugh. And neutralize their most successful agent, Dewey Andreas.
The first pre-emptive attack against Dewey Andreas fails but it worries the head of the CIA enough that he sends Dewey out of town and off the grid. But as intelligence analysts work as fast as they can to unravel the chatter on terrorist networks, Muhammed el-Shakib, head of Iran's military and intelligence agency, launches a bold strike. When the President arrives in New York to address the U.N., embedded terrorist assets blow up the bridges and tunnels that connect Manhattan to the mainland. Taking control of the island with it's hidden forces, they race to the U.N. in search of Dellenbaugh and to launch an even deadlier attack that will wreak unimaginable destruction on the country itself.
While a shocked country struggles to mount a counter-attack, a hopeless, outmanned and outgunned Dewey Andreas sneaks onto the island of Manhattan to fight a seemingly impossible battle.

Ok
4By danmatrasA very easy and quick read. I mostly enjoyed the book. Thought it was a little bloody for my taste, but worth the read.Waste of $ and time. Plot holes you could drive aircraft carriers through
1By CareerMovesWould have rated it ZERO stars, but that wasn’t an option. 1. In the short story that preceded this book, the President had selected the governor of NY as VP. 2. Given that it was easy to identify the three people who tried to kill Dewey, it’s hard to fathom that top Hezzbolah operatives wouldn’t have been flagged when they gained entry to the US. 3. That Mansour and the weapons arsenal was able to avoid Customs is ridiculous. 4. In a previous book, it was explained that Dewey’s wife was murdered, yet this book mentions her suicide. 5. Sending rescue choppers into a war zone without fighter jet backup was beyond pale. 6. The USS Eisenhower, from which the choppers were launched, is an aircraft carrier. It could have launched fighter jets that would have cleared the enemy from in front of the UN in a heartbeat. 7. Tacoma sends out a coded call - no mention of what those receiving the call did. 8. Tacoma gets his butt kicked by a guy weak with pancreatic cancer who was vomiting blood a few hours before. 9. A big deal was made of the fact that entry to the Fed system by four people had to be simultaneous. Yet, the hacker was able to do it one at a time. 10. The gunmen at the diner killed a bunch of people inside not knowing if Dewey was going there for lunch. 11. Apparently, Iran thought there would be no repercussions by the US for the attack. That’s plain STUPID.Huh?
2By TrabecularCoes wrote this??? I have read all the books in this series, and you are telling me that Coes wrote this???? I think it’s time to get a head CT Ben cuz you might have stroked out at some point in the recent past. Facial droop? Slurred speech? You need to go to the ED man.36,000 Police
1By Eric real name. Waste of $There are 36,000 police in New York City, 500 terrorist with machine guns would not last long… Everything about this book is unrealisticA different sort of spy novel
5By NaplesnutNot your average spy thriller. The dialogue was sharp and engaging. A series to look forward to reading. The Island

5By Top "A"As I set aside another chapter in the life of Dewey Andreas… I ponder the thought of the waiting wait before Coes next installment in this AWESOME thriller series. In the mean time I’ll wait with the next adventure with Jack (NMI) Reacher….Great book
5By eagle441I loved this oneGood, but lack of continuity
4By 71LurchDid Coes forget what happened in his last book before he wrote this one? For example, his VP?The Island
4By Super ClockThe book had too many subplots.Great book; almost as good as Vince Flynn
5By Old Doc 3Almost as good as Vince FlynnSo. Many. Errors.
2By Wrlss911ProWho really wrote this? It sure wasn’t Coes. A Lt. Colonel in a SEAL team? And what manual and semimanual on a rifle? I have never met or worked with an operator who uses a shoulder rig for a pistol while in a tactical set up. Great concept, but the errors in execution just make it awful.Couldn’t put it down!

5By koloseumgym.comBen is a master and this book was typical of his style and genius! Single Vince Flynn there hasn’t been anyone as good, and no one better, till Coes! He is a master of the genre and weaves a story Flynn would be jealous of!Best Coes yet
