2By PalatableDinnerAnna is a grating main protagonist, making a bold feminist pronouncement one second while obliviously undermining it with her behavior in the next. Unfortunately Lucy and Maddie, the other main protagonists of this series, have basically the same character voice for their arcs and read exactly like her. This book has tone issues, rehashes a lot, overexplains, has a few typos and continuity issues scattered throughout, and smells like performative activism. The one verifiably Black character in the cast is a traitor and gets his head stuck on a pike as a warning.Dating Dracula
