Excellent
5By SEH&FHDI just recently found Nikki Haverstock’s books. I’ve enjoyed all of them. This one, I presume it being the first in an upcoming series, was especially good. Concise writing, humor, danger, all wrapped up in a cozy, space faring mystery. I’m really looking forward to the next book and all of the others in the series that I hope she is planning to write. (Hope, hope!)Highly recommend!
5By jesusrocks4everThis was incredibly awesome! I think the author had mentioned this was a mashup of cozy mystery and space opera and YES! What a perfect blend! I absolutely LOVED Liz and her crew. I loved the development they had individually and as a crew. There adventures were definitely one-of-a-kind and made me lean forward, laugh, roll my eyes, and cheer. (I read this is one setting if that says anything!) Truly, this was a fantastic reading experience! I want more of these characters and already keeping a keen eye out for the next book! (Plus, I want to see where their adventures will take them next!) Highly recommend! *(I received an e-copy from the author. I was not required to write a positive review. All thoughts expressed are my own.)*Fun in space!
5By purple quilterThis book is definitely a cozy, in the best sense of the word. It has a murder our heroine has to solve, it’s very sweet with hint of romance and it’s full of quirky characters. It just happens to be set in space, our heroine is a ship captain and the crew is mostly not human. I laughed aloud several times reading this book, which is my highest praise for a cozy. I enjoyed the entire book and loved the characters.A wonderful adventure
5By Mjs4196361564This was an enjoyable story that has Liz going from a star pupil to an outcast in a terrible station. If that is bad enough she if framed for murder with a lot of weird things and officers with their own vendettas. And her ex shows up! Will she figure it all out? Can’t wait for the next book! I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.Politics and loyalties challenged
4By Bend in like a BohemianLaika’s Legacy was the achievement her parents felt their greatest legacy- that led among other things to their sacrifice with their ship and crew to win a fleet important war. It might keep her crew together, yet poor Liz was made to be a scapegoat more than once to improve optics for the Fleet. A ragtag bunch of wacky heroes and the annoying career climbers and politicians who target themAnother quality series in the works!
4By cfry315Great start to a new series by a stellar cosy author. I’ll be honest, I’m not usually a sci fi fan, but a huge fan of her other series, I knew I had to check this one out. It definitely didn’t disappoint, and I can’t wait to read more about this team of misfits as they zoom through space!Entertaining!
5By Lucky493Space Murder is the first book in the Captain Liz Laika Adventures by NL Haverstock. This is a great start to a new series. I found that I could really relate to Liz. It is a great cast of mis-fit characters that are there for each other. There’s also a lot of humor as well as action. I like to read to get away from stress and this was a very entertaining escape. I received this book as a gift and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
