A Summer Lark, A Mystery Afoot

“A Summer Lark, a Mystery Afoot” is the first book in a series for young boys, and girls. Where you are taken through 35 years of the life of Five teens and their friends of the Grand Apple Valley Adventure Club and Great, Great, Aunt Nellie McKelly, a former MI-5 Agent and Heiress. These stories are reminiscent of the turn of the century 1900’s “Rite of Passage” stories for young teen’s. Our story starts out describing five young boys and their relationship to each other since being in the 3rd grade and dealing with a school Bully Jake Lake who is in the Fifth Grade and how this bully finds many ways to foul up the Grand Apple Valley Adventure Club during its Summer break planned adventure of camping out in Grandfather’s Tom’s woods. The adventure begins with a fake FBI agent in town looking for a Witness to a crime who’s lead bring him to Grand Apple Valley Junction where he is looking for a young boy and his Aunt who may lead him to the Witness. We have undercover real FBI Agents, and a New York Crime boss involved. We find our adventurers dealing with kidnapping of one their own, rescue of the kidnapped. Then our bully in the story is kidnapped, and the Grand Apple Valley Adventure Club rescue the school bully saving his life from near death. Oh, don’t forget our former MI-5 agent and heiress with her own mysteries, and her “Wild and Woolley” Adventures of her own.
In Book Two, the “Mystery of Copper Ore Lodge” we find our adventure Club with its newest member Jake Lake, trapped in an old mine. In Book Three, “The Old Girl goes Batty” our adventure Club goes to Ireland to face some harrowing escapes and near decapitation. In Book Four, “Changing of the Guard, Jake Lake becomes a Police Officer, and our adventure Club members face decisions about their future. In our final book, yet to be titled brings our Grand Apple Valley Adventurers into Adulthood. In a “Rite of Passage” life starts with Birth, to Puberty, to Marriage, and finally Death. With those that follow in our Footsteps, the cycle starts over and over. And that is what the “Grand Apple Valley Adventure Club” is all about.
