Had a hard time finishing…
1By NanaTM1It was just so boring. I kept waiting for something to happen and it never did. You have a little boy who witnessed a murder and has to go into hiding with his aunt and her former partner, who were both sharpshooters in the Army, and nothing ever comes of it. They bring in one stray after another throughout the story and everything just miraculously falls into place and wrapped in a bow at the end.Best Story Ever!

5By angie1229I decided to get this because of the good reviews, but for some reason the good reviews are missing and only a negative one shows, so I wanted to put my two cents in. The cast of characters is very entertaining, and I plan to find more of Carolyn Brown’s books to read. To me this seemed like a modern story with values and even a few attitudes from a few decades ago, such as saying a blessing before meals, and kids who behave like kids, not miniature adults. It’s just a great feel-good story, and I didn’t want it to end!Holidays on the ranch
