I received a complimentary copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it. I adored this book. Granite Junction is a spin-off from the Redemption Ranch series. While it is not necessarily to read the prior books, the characters make multiple appearances. Cam was a secondary character in the first book of this series but it is also not required to read BUT I would definitely recommend it as it was a wonderful story. Cam Miller is finally able to sell the family ranch. He inherited the ranch basically at an early age. His father was still alive but became so depression as the passing of his wife, that he hit the bottle pretty hard. Cam had to learn the ranching business and raise his younger sister. When Cam’s father was coming home one night from the bar, he hit another car and killed a local teenager. He died shortly after going to prison and some town folks transferred their discontent to Cam. Now that Cam’s sister has graduated high school, she is off for culinary training. Cam is now free of the heavy burden of the ranch and can finally move away, eight hours away to Casper, WY. He purchased a leather works business from his mentor. Right before his going away party, Cam is informed by Molly that she is pregnant with his baby! Molly is a divorced woman with a young daughter, Reilly. Molly’s ex really isn’t in the picture. Molly has raised her daughter on her own and she can raise the new baby as well. She doesn’t need Cam but she thought he needed to know before he left. This story is one that just draws you in right from the beginning. I fell in love with the characters especially young Reilly. It was written in my favorite dual POV format. That really helped me to get a clearer picture of what the characters were thinking and feeling. This book is sexy in some parts so I would only highly recommend this to someone over the age of 18.

I love it when a writer has a strong independent woman as a main character. So many times a character like Molly is written as, not really a weak person, but someone who moans about what life has thrown at her. In this case, Molly has struggled for so long as a single parent that she can’t accept Cam’s love. She just doesn’t trust it to be there long term. Cam is a man that has always stepped up to take care of of others. He’s stayed in Granite Falls to take care of his sister & make their ranch profitable. Now is supposed to be his time to travel & leave his hometown behind. When a fling with Molly leaves consequences, it takes him a while to accept it. Now he has to show Molly he’s serious.

After getting to know Cam in the previous book, I wasn’t surprised by his willingness to do whatever he could for not just Molly but for Riley as well. He wasn’t going to let a mere eight hour drive keep him from helping Molly through their unexpected pregnancy. But she certainly didn’t help things by constantly pushing him away. I really wanted to love the pairing of Molly and Cam more than I did, but Molly made it difficult. While I definitely respect the fact that she’s an independent single mother, as well as a businesswoman, she just couldn’t give Cam an inch. She grew on me slowly, but she put him through the ringer. I still very much enjoyed their slow burn romance, though, and thought Riley was simply darling. I love that Cam met his match and got the happily ever after that he deserves.
