  • A Disappointing Sequel

I really enjoyed the first wave of High Republic books and was extremely excited for the second wave and I especially looking forward to this book since Into the Dark was my favorite in the first wave. Unfortunately, all three books in the second wave were a huge letdown. The story was very slow and way less exciting than the first wave and this book was the worst one in the High Republic so far. There was very little action and no real payoff or climax. I was hoping the ending would at least be enjoyable as a reward for slugging through the first 90% of the book but it was just boring all the way through.
