5By MarcyGennWhat a way to start this new series of The Sinclair Legacy. I have know idea how Celeste Barclay does it. She has this gift that from the beginning she gets you so invested to the lives of the characters . Then when the story unfolds. the connection is so strong that your emotions take over like you are part of the family yourself. Each story becomes such part of you that when it ends you can’t wait for the next one to begin again. Elena Isbister and Liam McKay heir to the Laird met on his trip for his Grandfather to the Orkney Isles. The adventure is anything but smooth. Many paths, hurdles, trust, fear, and love. One of the things Celeste also brings out in her stories and with the Highland Ladies and The Sinclairs is the honor bond they have to there family and Clan. The High Moral values they hold. That in itself sets these books on a level of hope, caring, protectiveness, love unconditionally, what more could you ask for . Recommend this and hats off to Wee Liam. 5By lvjmpThis is a well-written, warm-hearted love story set in the highlands. The historical part was excellent, but the part I liked the most is how the author was able to convey the way Liam and Elene fell in love with each other amidst everything else going on. A little look here, a thought there, and maybe a kiss or two, and before you knew it, they were in love. Watching it happen was like watching a rose bloom. It was fast but believable because of how it was depicted.Great Series Starter
5By BaileyB1Wow! This is such a great start to a new series. Liam and Elene are marvelous characters. I loved how tales of favorite characters from Liam’s family flow throughout the story and how he compares his relationship with Elene to those of his family. Liam is a true hero. Elene is strong woman who has overcome much in her life. Together they form a formidable duo. As always, Celeste Barclay paints a fabulous picture of this time in Scottish history. 4By Carey15864-4.5 Stars! My ancestors are supposedly from the Orkney Isles, specifically the island of Hoy, and that’s why I picked this book to read. I’m glad I did! Reading this book felt like looking back at my Viking and Scottish ancestors. This is my first time reading this author but it definitely won’t be the last! I really enjoyed this book. A strong man, an easy to hate bad guy, a strong damsel in distress, a loving and accepting family and a problem that needs solving. Both main characters are lovable and the bad guy was easily hate-able! Plus some steamy ‘sexy times’ and some manly fights makes for a great book! This is the first in a new series and can be read as a standalone. *I received this book at no charge & I voluntarily left this review.*Loved the story
5By GallowaygirlyOne of the biggest reasons I love Barclay’s Highland books are the descriptive details she writes in each book and the fact that there is some factual history in each one. The details helped me see the story as if it unfolded in front of me which makes for grest reading. I loved Liam and Elena’s story as they are two strong and determined individuals who find something they were not looking for, love. There is danger from the very beginning and how it is handled throughout the story makes for good reading. This is an excellent story and worth your time. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and are voluntarily leaving a review.First Book in New Series

5By jl.rr.reviews⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Highland Lion is full of passion and heart. This book takes place in 1300’s Scotland. Liam Mackay wants to prove himself to his family and journeys to Orkney to oversee some political matters for his grandfather. Elene Isbister is a desperate young woman yearning to flee a horrible fate. The two meet, and sparks fly. What I love about this story is how it is a character-driven plot. We are focused on developing the connection between Liam and Elene from their first scene together. There is an instant attraction, but what makes this book unique from many is the couple is cautious with the attraction. Liam and Elene do not jump into the deep end of a complex romance; they make intelligent decisions based on their situations, including infatuation. The couple is cautious, and I like that about them. I felt the romance stood out when trepidation turned into a passion and burgeoning love. The fight and reasoning the couple experience makes the bond stronger. Liam and Elene recognized the lust between them; however, they didn’t allow it to force life-altering decisions. Bravo for not making this an instant love at first sight romance when there are so many. The plot was bursting with content. I enjoyed that not all the action was saved until the end. The entire story was fraught with danger and struggle. The last twenty-five percent of the book had me at the edge of my seat! The ending was a fantastic culmination of an engaging, memorable book. Highland Lion is the first book in the new Clan Sinclair Legacy series. There is a back story and history; however, it didn’t strangle the plot. The backstory was handled so if you had read previous books, you’d discern past characters; however, if you are new to this writer, you were never lost. I appreciated the preface where the author covered some of the histories of this era. I felt it enriched the plot. Fantastic job, Celeste Barclay, in creating yet another intriguing, action-packed, passionate story that introduces us to another generation of intrepid characters. If you are new to medieval romance, this is an excellent jumping-off point; give Highland Lion a chance, you won’t regret it! I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book through BookSprout. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
