Sparks fly when ruggedly handsome rancher Marshall Breckinridge saves Doris Lancaster from an attempted kidnapping. She can't seem to get him out of her mind, and teaching his two sweet little girls doesn't help. Unfortunately, the rancher hasn't spoken to Doris since he rescued her. She, however, is determined to break through his tough exterior.

Marshall finds himself increasingly drawn to the much-younger schoolmarm, but he's worried his overbearing personality could be a danger to her gentle spirit. Then his smooth-talking cousin arrives on the scene and sets his sights on Doris.
