Katia offers a look into the life that she shared with her sweet Sergei. On the ice they were magic, there was no one like them. When they skated to Moonlight Sonata, it was Beethoven had written it just for them. Off the ice, however, was where the real magic lied. They were partners, then friends, then lovers, then husband and wife, and lastly, most importantly, parents to sweet Daria. It is a grippingly honest look into the skating world and into the life that Katia had with her Sergei. I am so grateful for the time she took to share her world with our world. She is an idol of mine, as is Sergei. Both for their strength.

I grow up in USSR ,living in USA since1995 ,and Ekaterina Gordeeva and Sergei Grinkov were my favorite skaters .....I am same age as Sergey. Everything Katia describes in her book about life in USSR back to our childhood is so true and to read about it was nostalgic amusement. But most of it this story is about unearthly pure love that probably only few people can experience..... And the purity of their love came from Katy's and Sergey's very special, pure souls . Thank You Katia for sharing Your beautiful memory with us, now I understand even more why I was mesmerized by yours and Sergey skating together......

A friend had recommended this book and am so glad I read it! In life its hard to find someone from a young age that was so special to her and deeply cared. Someone that shared her passion and completed her in many ways. To find that person gone is devastating but she found the strength in her to continue living forward.

I loved this book. The book had romance, loss, growth, and strength! I watched their competitions and it's interesting to read about how she really felt. I also enjoyed reading about the Russian culture and history.
