This book was the same premise repeated over and over, ad nauseam. Perhaps that would be acceptable if it was a novel idea, but it's not. Make yourself indispensable. There - I saved you $10 and hours of time. Please don't waste your money on this useless piece of low-level self-help garbage.Wow! Paradigm shift of what it means to stand out.

Yes, somebody has to work in the factory but it doesn't have to be you. Seth is brilliant but never so full of himself that he can't relate to the struggling artist in everyone. Using the premise that everyone can be an artist, the key message is create something of value that is a gift ... And everything else will take care of itself. While I'm making this over simplistic, Godin details key themes, challenges, research to boost his approach. When I got an iPad today this is one book I knew I wanted to have with me if only to remind myself that in the modern work world they can always find somebody to follow the rules cheaper than you. It is what you create, what you generate, the art that you do that is not easily duplicated or templatized that makes you a linchpin.
