Description

“I can’t figure out if this book is a heart-felt dispatch from the front line in the battle of the sexes or a brilliant send-up of the way in which the male point of view has been misrepresented by militant feminists. I suspect it may be both.” --Toby Young, New York Times bestselling author of How to Lose Friends and Alienate People

An offensive, in-your-face, brutally honest and completely hilarious look at male inner life and sexual fantasy. In the course of this hilariously honest book, our narrator suffers through a relationship with his wannabe-actress girlfriend until he finds the perfect girl. But when he moves into the new relationship, he slowly realizes he thinks that all women are pretty much the same, that his true desires will never be fulfilled, and the decision between living life alone or biting the marriage bullet must be made.

The Average American Male was a joy to read, it made me laugh often and I did not want to put it down! I believe it's very relatable to many "average American males!" Also, being from the area where it was from hit home in many ways! I give it 5 stars and plan on reading all of his books!

The author basically writes a letter of apology to his Mother at the end of the book. He should've included anyone who purchased the book as well!
  • An excellent read

While yes it is exaggerated, it does give an accurate view on the lack of thought that men have and gives women a good insight to how shallow men can be. I found it absolutely hysterical and a great read, and I can't wait for the sequel.

Very Vulgar but funny and true to some degree. Entertaining and recommend it to anyone who's looking for a good laugh.

This is the worst book I've ever read. It did nothing for me but made me doubt my faith in humanity. I know for a fact this is not what the average American male is like. The book should rather be titled The Scum of the Earth. It literally made me mad and I continued reading it only to make sure that the "protagonist" would end up in misery. I'm sad I wasted $2 on this book because I don't want it to reach anymore success than it already has.

All I can say is eh...this book strikes me as a view into something a typical male would think about in any given day. Starts out interesting, but quickly devolves into a tale of "how do I get this b---h to have sex with me?" Over and over again. I'm a guy and this book leaves me with a certain distaste in my mouth for being male and wondering, is this all there is...? Glad I didn't pay but 1.99 for this tale. After the first 10 chapters, I should've stopped reading, but felt I had too much invested to stop.

I'm 18 years old so this may be a bit of a different standing point then from some, but I read this off and on and finished it in 3 days. It's a fantastic read but I think it definitely appeals to men. It's very vulgar, in your face, and though exaggerated, it is truthful at times as well.
