Sharpe’s Rifles
5By Mad WilkieI am a 42 year old woman, and I teach elementary. I have read this book at least 4times. Sharpe is very violent, but he has honor and duty and respects his men. Who would you want at your door in battle? Too bad he never gets the girl...Not Patrick O’Brian. But an OK read
3By LionelJJust finished reading the Aubrey Maturin by Patrick O’Brian, and was searching for another book about military history during the Napoleonic wars. I did get through the book, which did hold my interest throughout. That said, this author is not in the same league as Mr. O’Brian. Not as literate. Not as well researched. Not erudite. Lots of gaps and holes in the story. Perhaps I hold too high a standard here.Sharps Rifles
5By boots saddleGreat book, although it is not #1 in the Sharps series (Sharps Tiger is the correct first in the series). Anyway, Rifles is a great read and will be greatly enjoyed by anyone who likes historical fiction, although the story has its basis in actual happenings.Excellent

5By jsdpharmdThis is a wonderful read and worth reading first in the series. I read this first in the series after reading three others and wish I had read it first. These will hook you.Great read!
5By PDennisonIf you are a fan of historical novels, the Sharpe series is a classic! Be careful, once you start, you'll find yourself immersed! An Excellent Read!
5By gcain99If you have any interest in Historical Fiction, or just great stories, take the time to read this book and the other Sharpe installments. I recommend reading these by release date. Even though a couple of the later releases take place before Sharpe's Rifles, they will be more enjoyable having read Sharpe's later adventures.
