Description

This first book in the addictive, romantic Firelight trilogy is perfect for fans of Rebecca Yarros, Jennifer Armentrout, and Tahereh Mafi.

With her rare ability to breathe fire, Jacinda is special even among the draki—the descendants of dragons who can shift between human and dragon forms.

But when Jacinda’s rebelliousness forces her family to flee into the human world, she struggles to adapt, even as her draki spirit fades. The one thing that revives it is the gorgeous, elusive Will—who comes from a long line of dragon hunters. Jacinda can’t resist getting closer to him, even though she knows she’s risking not only her life but the draki’s most closely guarded secret.

The steam rises with this fire-breathing romance about a girl whose love crosses an ancient divide, from New York Times bestselling author Sophie Jordan.

  • Really good for a dragon novel

First off, I'm not one for books about dragons or mermaids or anything in that kind of category....but this changed my opinion. The plot is so different from others that I have read that you really get into the characters and the world that has been created.( just so your not confused, mermaids don't appear in this book:) my sister told me about this book and I'm glad she did! But I hate books that end like this, where your like " what the bleep just happened?! I need the next one!" Stupid cliffhangers, but I guess that's what makes you keep buying the books. Definitely worth getting ;).

I did not care very much for the main character's name. Other than that it, is a great read. It definately replaces the twilight series on my list opf favorite trilogy novels.

The story had a lot of fun ideas. Its a pretty fast read too. I did enjoy it. But it seems to me that it probably needed another draft or two like bread that needed another 20 minutes in the oven to be awesome. My theory is that because of this, some of the characters felt like characters instead of people at times. Something's feel forced like the author either didn't trust her characters or didn't know them well enough. A truly great book lets you forget that your reading and allows you to get wrapped up in another world. As another reviewer pointed out... It ends on a climax. A little annoying. Book recommendation: if you like this book, I'd give the Shiver series a shot (5 stars).

I think this was a great book I liked that a girl who was completely different from everyone else came to a small town for a fresh start not knowing what was to happen next. Knowing only that if she showed her true dragon side to the humans that the hunters would find her and kill her and then her mother and sister would also be harmed in the end. I think she was very brave for falling in love with a human but not only a human but a Dragon hunter who hunts her kind. Her mother moved her and her sister awY from their tribe to protect them from the main leader in the tribe who was going to clip her wings so she could never fly again. I recommend that anyone who likes books about romance between two very completely different people will like this book specially people who like books about shape shifters and fire breathing dragons should defiantly buy this book

The premise is not one I've seen which I enjoy! Some of the same love story ideas as others but it never matters because somehow you still love the characters. I feel like it's written for the big screen. Opening scene and the last are leaving you craving more!! So nice!

Honestly could not stop reading..... The audiobook is really well done and the reader keeps you intertertained. Highly applaud this book. The ending made me cry..... BUT THERE IS STILL HOPE. So if your like me, you have to read the reviews.... Just get the book and don't read anymore! LOVE

I really really wanted to like this book. Great concept, something new with the dragon thing but this book is all filler with no real depth. I think a better writer could have gone farther with the idea but in the end, this book is a bust. And FYI it also ends right in the middle of the climax!
