Description
“Barker’s the best thing to happen to horror fiction for many moons. . . [he] never fails to deliver the compelling prose and relentless horror his readers expect.” —Chicago Tribune
The classic tale of supernatural obsession from the critically acclaimed master of darkness—and the inspiration for the cult classic film Hellraiser
From his scores of short stories, bestselling novels, and major motion pictures, no one comes close to the vivid imagination and unique terrors provided by Clive Barker. The Hellbound Heart is one of Barker’s best—a nerve-shattering novella about the human heart and all the great terrors and ecstasies within its endless domain. It is about greed and love, desire and death, life and captivity, bells and blood. It is one of the most frightening stories you are likely to ever read.
Frank Cotton's insatiable appetite for the dark pleasures of pain led him to the puzzle of Lemarchand's box, and from there, to a death only a sick-minded soul could invent. But his brother's love-crazed wife, Julia, has discovered a way to bring Frank back—though the price will be bloody and terrible . . . and there will certainly be hell to pay.

5By Thai ZeoTruly amazing, I’ve always been a big Hellraiser fan and after reading the book I can say I have a greater appreciation for the series. The book had so many elements and perspectives of the story I didn’t feel the film could truly capture 10/10.Fantastic Read
5By loquepiensoaquiThis story is easy to read, and keeps the suspense going. A short, but very interesting dark tale. Highly recommend it!The hellbound heart
1By picasso's motherDon’t waste your time.The Hellbound Heart
5By D. HillA masterful work from the mind of one of horror's greatest authors. The book serves as a great template to the unseen horror that lies in our imagination. What is seen as horror to us is pleasure for others as the cenobites make clear. This work from Clive Barker serves as a chilling love story with melodrama placed in between strange desire and striking terror. The format of this novella is easy to read with a simple design that makes going from page to page a wonderful joy.Desire is like a poison.
4By doctorjinseoulWe pursue it and it ends up with another one.So good
5By MAnthonyG84I've seen the film countless times but the book is way better and short so there is no excuse . Give it a read!Great story! Horrible spelling mistakes.
4By mguy12I'm still amazed to find books for sale on iBooks which contain numerous spelling and grammatical mistakes. What exactly are we paying for if the quality is so low. This is a great story (better than the Hellraiser film) and Clive Barker is a talented author. The publisher and apple should be ashamed that so many books in their catalog look like they have been transcribed by a 2 year old.An amazing work of art
5By BattleBorn3Barker's novella The Hellbound Heart originally released in Book of Blood VI is a timeless horror classic. I've read this many times, it draws out our deepest, darkest secrets and portrays it in a non-stop field of horror. This is also the first story to be put to film in the Hellraiser series. By far, this is the best of all the stories. Any Clive Barker fan will relish this dark and twisted story.
