Phil Hellmuth, Jr., a seven-time World Champion of Poker, presents his tournament-tested strategies to beat any type of player, including:
The Jackal (crazy and unpredictable)The Elephant (plays too many hands) The Mouse (plays very conservatively)The Lion (skilled and tough to beat)
Play Poker Like the Pros begins by laying out the rules and set-up of each game and then moves on to easy-to-follow basic and advanced strategies. • Beginners only!

Phil is one of the best players in the world, but this book is clearly written for beginners only. If you have been playing for more than 6 months then there might not be a whole lot you can take from this book. Phil Gordon's "Little Green Book" is much more suited for someone looking for advanced strategy and theory.
  • Reading is not enough... understanding it is!!!

I already read the little green... This book is more easy to read and understand then the other. I gain much more from this book as from anything else. I had read this book not once... I read it several times. Because you have to understand it. You have to learn to think this way. From this book I gain much more experience then from everything else. I try to absorb this book. And I'm not done with it. I really love this one. After I tried to play like it was describe in this book, I really have more success like then before. To learn this kind you need time. And you should take it. You could not learn it from reading it a single time. You can really learning play poker. But specially fixed limit. But everybody has to start somewhere. And in "limit" you could not loose so much money then in "no limit" but I would be happy if there would be a bigger part of "no limit" too like in "limit" hold 'em. But nothing or nobody is perfect. I really love this book. And I really can recommend this book. It is really worth to read it. I hope that he will write a new book with a bigger " no limit" section like the " limit" one. It's worth the money. Give them five stars
  • Worst book ever

Unless you're completely new to the game, there's almost nothing in here for you. If you've EVER played in a casino tournament or cash game, you're wasting your time and money here. Over half the book is literally devoted to explaining the rules and how the game is played. Very little strategy or examples. Maybe the worst book on poker I've ever read. Sorry Phil.

This is one of the best poker strategy books I have ever read. Phil Hellmuth is a mastermind in the way that he writes and explains his philosophies of poker. Not only that, he spends a good deal of time telling the story of Phil Hellmuth, which is very interesting because it helps explain why his strategies have developed the way they have and shows why he is the best player to ever play the game.
