Description
A heartwarming romance about a woman who finds true love in a small town, from New York Times bestselling author, Jude Deveraux.
Jocelyn Minton is a woman torn between two worlds. Her mother grew up attending private schools and afternoon teas, but she married the local handyman. After her mother died when Joce was only five years old, her father remarried into his own class, and Joce became an outsider—until she met Edilean Harcourt. Although she was sixty years Joce's senior, Miss Edi was a kindred soul who understood her like no one else ever had.
When Miss Edi passes away, she leaves Joce all her worldly possessions, including an eighteenth-century house and a letter with clues to a mystery that began in 1941. In the letter, Miss Edi also mentions that she has found the perfect man for Joce—a handsome young lawyer. Joce is shocked to learn that the mystery, the house, and the future love of her life are all in Edilean, a small town in Virginia that Miss Edi never told her about. Hurt that the woman who meant so much to her kept so many secrets, Jocelyn moves to this tight-knit village in an attempt to understand the legacy that has been left to her. As she begins to dig into Miss Edi's mystery, she soon discovers some shocking surprises about her family's history and her own future—and she meets a man with his own mysterious past.

Hated to put it down
4By mmz57Lavender Morning was an excellent book, part history, mystery + romance. I fully enjoyed the book. At the end turned the page expecting more,so was a little disappointed in the ending. On the cover it said "first in the series". Unlike other books in iTunes, really doesn't tell you which order to buy the books.Lavender Morning
1By CMT in PAIt's a shame, really....Predictable from the beginning....hastily tied up at the end...characters are flat...poor developement....6th grade sentences....dialogue sounds like middle-schoolers.....Harry Potter looks like Shakespeare in comparison....This is a book for women who like soap operas to read at the beach.Ugh...
2By amcclardI had never read anything by Jude Deveraux before, so wasn't sure what to expect, or how it might compare with any of her other books. I bought Lavendar Morning because it had overall high ratings, and the premise of the story sounded interesting enough to me (it was a decent premise), but I found the writing and the characters to be two dimensional. I plodded through the book in spite of the fact that I could not relate to any of the characters or their obsession with marriage. I did not get pulled into the story ever; it was very predictable and uninteresting.Lavender Morning
5By KellarieI found this book at a timeshare and could not put it down. It traveled from St Martin to Minnesota. It was the past and present it a time capsule. Terrific.Lavender Morning
