Description

In Charles Todd's Wings of Fire, Inspector Ian Rutledge is quickly sent to investigate the sudden deaths of three members of the same eminent Cornwall family, but the World War I veteran soon realizes that nothing about this case is routine.

Including the identity of one of the dead, a reclusive spinster unmasked as O. A. Manning, whose war poetry helped Rutledge retain his grasp on sanity in the trenches of France. Guided by the voice of Hamish, the Scot he unwillingly executed on the battlefield, Rutledge is driven to uncover the haunting truths of murder and madness rooted in a family crypt...

YES. It has the same title name, that’s doesn’t mean they copied Tui T. Sutherland’s book series, Wings Of Fire. Like bro read the title- DO YOU ACTUALLY SEE ANYTHING LIKE iDk ‘Book about the Dragonets Of Destiny get captured by the SkyWing queen and have to fight to escape.’ No. I don’t. P.S.: don’t take this as me yelling and scolding everyone for getting angy at the book title!! I’m telling y’all so everyone will stop saying the same thing for the rest of Apple Book’s time. EDIT 1: This book was also made before the first book was posted.

Lots of characters and their relationships to keep track of…a chart of the family tree would have been a welcomed addition.

What a story! Inspector Ian Rutledge is a great character. Charles Todd has created a fabulous character with great depth. The story was complex and deep. A great read, as every book by this author has been for me. I can't wait to read another.

It's a good book. Although, I read his first book and its suppose to be a mystery I kind of figured who it was and wanted to finish the book to make sure that I was right. It was a little predictable. I expected a little more in depth.
