Description

The must-have New York Times bestseller that tells you what to do now for a child with autism, ADD, ADHD, OCD, and other disorders

For any child with challenges, early intervention is essential and parents need a plan that they can implement right away. Jenny McCarthy, one of the country's leading autism advocates, has teamed up with top autism specialist Jerry Kartzinel, M.D., to offer a prescriptive guide to the healing therapies and treatments that have turned the lives of so many children around. While autism cases have grown a whopping 6000 percent since the 1970s, the medical community is still waking up to the epidemic and parents need tools to begin healing their children and educating their doctors, instead of waiting six months to a year to get an appointment with a specialist. In this book, parents will learn about the following:

•The biomedical diet and supplement protocol

•Where to find alternative therapies and how to implement them

•A list of tests any doctor can perform

•Studies to show your doctor that will help make the case that they need to support your efforts

•Advice for preventing autism during pregnancy and the early years by looking at family history of allergies, depression, and autoimmune disorders as well as Mom's chemical exposure

Whether your child has autism, ADD, ADHD, OCD, or an autism spectrum disorder, Healing and Preventing Autism is the authoritative reference book with the tools to heal your child.

Having read the 3 McCarthy Autism books, she clearly states that there is no "cure" for autism, rather SOME kids do "recover". My son has a number of aliments that may/may not be connected to his autism and I will try these "snake oil" treatments just to see him better. As of now we are doing a GFCF diet against out pediatrician's advice and I AM SEEING IMPROVEMENTS!!!! This book started my journey and I will be forever grateful to the information that is in this book. Don't hate on Jenny or say neg comments on this book unless you have a child with Autism and have read the book in it's entirety.

The whole purpose of this book is to provide HOPE to those with autistic children!!! So to the miserable and defeated people of the world...it doesn't hurt to try what they are suggesting...even if it "could" be misleading. That is what is wrong with the world today...there are too many people that have given up on HOPE! To all you parents with autistic children, including myself, please stand together and realize that there is still HOPE that your child can progress. Together we can make a difference for our children and possibly for the world of science.

Ms McCarthy is the epitome of ignorance and psuedo-intellect. Dr. Kartzinel either has an ulterior motive or is, quite sadly, completely misinformed. Conspiracy this, deception that. This book is full of persuasive writing and snake oil pitches. Parents should be encouraged to consider the facts and make a decision about treatments that will result in real, tangible, recordable gains. Instead this book peddles the "treatments" that the at-large autism community has already established as ineffective. Get some ABA, some speech therapy, and an inclusive classroom with supports and services necessary ti achieve success and leave the hyperbaric chambers to the deep sea divers.
