Description

Like many ambitious New York City teenagers, Craig Gilner sees entry into Manhattan's Executive Pre-Professional High School as the ticket to his future. Determined to succeed at life—which means getting into the right high school to get into the right college to get the right job—Craig studies night and day to ace the entrance exam, and does. That's when things start to get crazy. At his new school, Craig realizes that he isn't brilliant compared to the other kids; he's just average, and maybe not even that. He soon sees his once-perfect future crumbling away.

For a person who doesn’t like to read this book kept me interested it mainly has to due with the fact I do suffer from anxiety and depression and I am also talking Zoloft too so in a way I was able to relate to Craig but I’m glad he got the help he needed in order to get better. I would definitely recommend this book it’s a good read especially if you’re dealing with mental illness like Craig said “ we all have problems we just deal with them different” and it’s very true I used to hide the fact I had anxiety because I was afraid what people would think of me but I went and got the help I needed I definitely recommend this book !!!

Though it’s a book that talks about mental health, reading Craig’s (the main character) experiences and perspectives is very fun.
  • I liked it

As a high schooler I must say I had similar thoughts as Craig I’m glad things kinda worked out in the end and it gives a rather good insight on what depression can be like.

From a person who’s been in a mental hospital, and who’s been through very similar scenarios to those in this book, this book hit, and it hit HARD. I legitimately cried reading the last page, and I’ve reread that last page again and again whenever I’m really going through it. I finished this book the day I was 6 months out of inpatient, and it gave me the exact same feelings i had that day when i got out. I highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone

Honestly, I'm a 15 year old who doesn't enjoy reading...at all. But I can across this book one day while I was in target and thought I'd give it a try. I couldn't put it down!! I procrastinated on so many homework assignments just to read this book. My geography teacher yelled at me one day for reading it during an assembly and right when she walked away I started reading it again. I'm so sad I finished it. This book is so amazing! Read it!!

This book is absolutely life changing. If you or someone you know suffers from depression, this book is absolutely going to hit home. It's sad, funny, and real all at the same time. It's beautiful in its humor and serious message. This book has inspired me to live. It gives a real insight into the mind of depression.

Not the page turner i was hoping for. Did make me smile a couple of times. Its funny and quirky. Took me a while to finish, i guess i just couldn't relate to the characters situation and i lost interest. This book would probably not appeal to adults.
