HUGO AWARD WINNER FOR BEST SERIES
Humanity has colonized the solar system—Mars, the Moon, the Asteroid Belt and beyond—but the stars are still out of our reach.
Jim Holden is XO of an ice miner making runs from the rings of Saturn to the mining stations of the Belt. When he and his crew stumble upon a derelict ship, the Scopuli, they find themselves in possession of a secret they never wanted. A secret that someone is willing to kill for—and kill on a scale unfathomable to Jim and his crew. War is brewing in the system unless he can find out who left the ship and why.
Detective Miller is looking for a girl. One girl in a system of billions, but her parents have money and money talks. When the trail leads him to the Scopuli and rebel sympathizer Holden, he realizes that this girl may be the key to everything.
Holden and Miller must thread the needle between the Earth government, the Outer Planet revolutionaries, and secretive corporations—and the odds are against them. But out in the Belt, the rules are different, and one small ship can change the fate of the universe.

Way better than anticipated!
5By DayDayReadsThis is book is a whole lot of fun! I thoroughly enjoyed how outer space living was depicted in a very realistic way, it made for a super intense and informative experience. The character work here is great too! Very excited to read book 2.Splendid
5By ICEbergJDI’m sad it took me so long to discover this series. I can’t wait for what’s to come in book two and beyond. My thanks to the author. Awesome!A Relevant and Noble Story
5By River McGheeI liked the science fiction focus on current moral challenges and on making peace with yourself. On problem solving vs false confidence. On change, possibilities and imagination. The main characters continually rethink, analyze, imagine and reevaluate their decisions. It’s also a great story!Awesome!
5By Maybe 456789It is a great work of science fiction! I enjoyed the world Corey has built, and the characters that brought this story to life. I highly recommend this!A+
5By timeleftReally enjoyed it from start to finishSpace Opera at its Best
5By EmrysRHonestly some of the best world building I’ve ever read since the Foundation and Robot Series. The level with which this book also grounds itself in a plausible reality with regards to space travel and colonization makes it that much engrossing. One of the greats
5By th4th manAn amazing book that fleshes out two differing views on humanity along with all the actions, mystery, and horror one could ask for. A Sci-fi that is definitely up there with Dune and the Foundation.Intriguing
5By adestinesiaEnjoyed the scientific and political struggles of solar system colonization. Loved each character’s development, and the short lived bromance between Miller and Holden. Liked the split storytelling.Leviathan Awakes
5By Bianca TooI like detective novels and science fiction and this novel has both. The period of time is when humans have thoroughly settled the solar system but have not moved on to other star systems. There is political rivalry among Earth, Mars and the Kaiper Belt and the rivalry is also reflected in the characters. The characters figure out how to work together in the end.A fantastic space-opera
5By loganO2112James Corey did an excellent job writing Leviathan Wakes. James seamlessly weaves writing in the style of traditional science fiction with grungy noir and elements of horror. This book features a rich world with interesting characters wrapped up in galaxy-wide problems. Highly recommended.
