In this powerful, labyrinthian thriller, David Martín is a pulp fiction writer struggling to stay afloat. Holed up in a haunting abandoned mansion in the heart of Barcelona, he furiously taps out story after story, becoming increasingly desperate and frustrated. Thus, when he is approached by a mysterious publisher offering a book deal that seems almost too good to be real, David leaps at the chance. But as he begins the work, and after a visit to the Cemetery of Forgotten Books, he realizes that there is a connection between his book and the shadows that surround his dilapidated home and that the publisher may be hiding a few troubling secrets of his own. Once again, Ruiz Zafón takes us into a dark, gothic Barcelona and creates a breathtaking tale of intrigue, romance, and tragedy.

5By abgwadsWhat I love the most about Zafon, is that he takes you to the places he describes. He leaves you in the story. I often wonder through the plot trying to guess the next twist, but he always turns a different way. This series is great, and one of my favorites!Writing with Clarity
3By JerrmanMore ethereal and not quite as compelling as the others in the series but, it does fill a void of information about some of the characters. The writing continues to be incredibly clear and descriptive so that you feel every emotion and physical presence.Captivating
5By Dude who loves block headsOne of the best books I've ever read in my life! Captivating and all encompassing beautiful sorrow!Love does win
5By TizGod'sWillIn the end, love emerges victorious. A beautifully written story of a writer who loses his way along the path of life. Never wanted it to end its weaving tale full of twists and turns and love. And God. Love and God.Breathtaking experience
5By Dough DRTThis is my second book in a row by this author. In the past, when I've liked a book so much that I must have another helping, as it were, from the same pen, I've been disappointed by the second book. This is not the case here, this book being even better than his first. I'm so inspired, wanting to do a walking tour of Barcelona to follow the characters through this book - that's how much I loved it!Disappointed
3By 3g8twhShadows of the Wind set the bar for this series and The Angels Game did not meet it. The last third of the book was a stretch to finish for me.One of the best
