In The Sackett Brand, Louis L’Amour spins the story of a courageous man who must face overwhelming odds to track down a killer.
Tell Sackett and his bride, Ange, came to Arizona to build a home and start a family. But on Black Mesa, something goes terribly wrong. Tell is ambushed and badly injured. When he finally manages to drag himself back to where he left Ange, she is gone. Desperate, cold, hungry, and with nothing to defend himself, Tell is stalked like a wounded animal. While he hides from his attackers, his rage and frustration mount as he tries to figure out who the men are, why they are trying to kill him, and what has happened to his wife. Discovering the truth will be risky. And when he finally does, it will be their turn to run.

Tell
5By Suzzie5Great story about a man who was looking for a man that was shot, fell down a cliff and survived. Took days to get back to the place he had left his wife waiting with the wagon but when he got back she was not alive. He then started looking for the man who killed her but that man had men looking for him to kill. But Tell was not going to let them kill him until he got the man who killed his wife.Tragedy, struggles, trickery, and survival
5By transfundsA new beginning then tragedy strikes. A struggle to survive and triumph over the bad guys as only Louis L’Amour can tell the stories. The Sackett Brand
3By boots saddleNot one of Louis’s best, and I’ve read a lot of his tales. Overly complex and detailed plot and somewhat not believable happenings.Greatness
5By JosephCottenSuch a great story. I would encourage new L'Amour readers to read one or two other Sackett novels before this one — even though this is probably the best of them all. There's a good reason for that recommendation, but I'm not giving away any spoilers. The Sackett Brand
5By HeAvEnZ SaViOrVery good book. This was the first of L'moures books I read and it instantly got me hooked. He's very talented at painting the picture of the Wild West. Good short read, I was finished in just hours.Sackett brand
