5By DeloresCAs a woman I read this book because I was interested in understanding what a man's headship of the family according to the Biblical foundation looked like. Surprisingly the book taught me much about myself as well. Many of my struggles which lined up with the authors examples resenated with me and I began to understand that the God given gifts given to me had been discounted/trampled upon throughout my marriage slowly and I gave away/or minimized His gifts to me as woman by me trying to keep the peace. I never thought about the husband's role being based on him being responsible for creating oneship with scarificial love. We have built our marriage upon the world's ways and not God's ways. Hopefully my husband will be interested in reading this book one day, in the meantime, I have a clearer vision of how to stand my ground and honor the LORD in my marriage. Thankfully the LORD is faithful to those who follow Him and desire His will in their marriage. Sadly most churches fail marriages this way.Look elsewhere
1By orsinicsThis book suggests a mutual submission marriage model which has no sound biblical basis. They have some things right, but it's not worth $10 to read about a guy basing his marriage model on a little bit of Bible and bunch of experience. Read Love that Lasts instead. This book has impacted my marriage tremendously and it's not full of stupid stories.
