Description
A mysterious and suspenseful story that will move and disturb you to the very end.
When she sees what looks like a child tumbling from a ferry into frigid Lake Champlain, Troy Chance dives in without thinking. When she gets the child to shore she discovers that his name is Paul, he speaks only French—and no one is looking for him.
Her determination to protect Paul pulls Troy from her quiet life as a writer in a small Adirondack town into an unfamiliar world of wealth and privilege in Canada and then in Vermont. Her attachment to him—and the danger she faces when she tries to unravel the mystery of his abandonment—force her to evaluate everything she thought true about herself.

5By AllyrosieI was hooked from the first page. I forced myself to put it down so I could savor it longer. I will definitely be reading her next one.Enjoyable Read!
4By JaneDSGreat story and main character. Really enjoyed it.Learning to Swim
4By retiredreaderVery enjoyable, interesting book. Realistic characters, intriguing mystery. About 100 pages from the end, it got slow and boring. Even the narrator of the book said the action was "tedious". So, I skimmed about 30 pages and then picked up the action, and it was again great. Knowing what I do now, I would recommend you stick through the tedious part, though.Learning to swim
