Description
New York Times Bestseller
A tale of joy, heartbreak and hope, about a motherless girl collectively raised by a close-knit Dublin community.
When Noel learns that his terminally ill former flame is pregnant with his child, he agrees to take guardianship of the baby girl once she’s born. But as a single father battling demons of his own, Noel can’t do it alone.
Fortunately, he has a competent, caring network of friends, family and neighbors: Lisa, his unlucky-in-love classmate, who moves in with him to help him care for little Frankie around the clock; his American cousin, Emily, always there with a pep talk; the newly retired Dr. Hat, with more time on his hands than he knows what to do with; Dr. Declan and Fiona and their baby son, Frankie’s first friend; and many eager babysitters, including old friends Signora and Aidan and Frankie’s doting grandparents, Josie and Charles.
But not everyone is pleased with the unconventional arrangement, especially a nosy social worker, Moira, who is convinced that Frankie would be better off in a foster home. Now it’s up to Noel to persuade her that everyone in town has something special to offer when it comes to minding Frankie.
"Joyful, quintessential Binchy." —O, The Oprah Magazine

5By Jane AnsibleAs alway Maeve Binchy has us interested and invested in each character from the very beginning. I love how her characters jump from book to book and you find out more about them in a totally unrelated book. Read I! Read them all!!!Minding Frankie
5By Oklahoma ReaderI was totally captivated by this book didn't want it to end.Minding Frankie
5By Deborah Br.This book really has it all. Even as the reader, I felt a part of this wonderful, fictional town. This book really demonstrates how a community should operate. They all care deeply for one another and and learn from one another. Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship that is based on support and acceptance. Frankie thrives as a result of love and community. A child can never have to many adults who love her.Minding Frankie
5By No more, all are takenI had two assumptions about this book. First, I thought none of Ms. Binchy's books could be as good as Evening Class. I was wrong. This book is at least as good. Also, I thought this book would be depressing. It is a wonderful book. I enjoyed almost every word.Entertaining
4By DBecker607Formulaic and stereotypical but the cast is fun and the story is upbeat. A gentle typical Maeve Binchy read. In it's genre, it's pretty good light reading.
