5By Her Mine E.I never write reviews because nothing ever measures up to Harry Potter or LOTR and I feel bad holding any well-meaning author to such high standards. Michael Scott meticulously weaves mythologies from all cultures, ancient and modern, with a story of two regular siblings. The relationships are inventive and somehow believable when put in such detailed and accurate context--historical figures like Shakespeare and Joan of Arc meet up with the likes of Prometheus in places that still exist today and can be cross-referenced with google images. Even though this is considered children's fiction, I appreciate the fact that Scott does not condescend to the reader. I actually learned a lot and look forward to the next book!Great book!
