Description

Wayne Cordeiro found himself paralyzed by burnout. He had been in ministry for 30 years, and 10 years after founding what is now the largest church in Hawaii, he found himself depleted. Wayne took a season out of his growing ministry to recharge and refocus on the truly important. He was able to get back in touch with his life, get back in proper balance, and re-energize his spirit through Christ in a way that propelled him forward to greater levels of service. Wayne first gave this message at a recent Willow Creek Leadership Summit, where it was the highest-rated presentation by those in attendance.

Pulling no punches, Wayne talks about the walls leaders must break through and how to move on with integrity. Included are ways to care for oneself physically and emotionally as well as spiritually.

I have had the pleasure of attending New Hope in Honolulu. Pastor Wayne is one of those genuine individuals who strengthens those around him with his wonderful energy, enthusiasm and Spirit. His hunger for God and passion for leading is at the depth of his character. For any Christian or business leader who is struggling with burnout or depression and is looking for real, practical methods to help reinvigorate your Spirit, Leading on Empty gives sound advice for a way forward.

Excellent. I wish this book was around 30 years ago where I could have read the book and be better prepared for the future. However, I believe I would not have be open to the advice at the time because of being young and thought I was in control. With that said, e book is full of information of going forward from this point. It is never too late.

This book was recommended to me several times but I avoided it, wanting to invest my reading time in something other than learning of burn out. As a young man, I was bothered by the notion I would need such a book so early. But the encouragement of my wife, my pastor, and God, I finally gave in an downloaded it. It interrupted my day, I read it for hours straight unable to put it down. I thank God for Pastor Wayne's wisdom, as I feel confident I am now able to recognize and avoid the tragic path of burn out that I have been traveling for many years. I am making some life style adjustments to be a healthy steward of my time, keep my passion, and avoid crashing. This book is incredible. Thanks! -Legin
