Reviews
A book with good substance
5By mcckaitso good that it got me back in the groove of reading for fun again. This book connects everyone’s human experience and makes you realize that we are all still learning life’s lessons, no matter what age we are. The hard truths and the inspiration to look deeper into ourselves. I’ll be buying a physical copy to let friends borrow because I believe everyone should read it.Give one to everyone you know
5By africa831My favorite book of all time. The feels
5By JackieS704Don’t read this book any time or place you’re not prepared to ugly cry. A real, raw, unafraid look at hard truths and how to live with them.I loved it!
5By anaïs99So raw and real hard to step away from so sad it’s over I’d like to write my own letter to CherylOof
4By PinkiemommaHard to read. Impossible to put down.Beautifully written
5By Dieley TorresI was sad when this book was over. I was deeply connected with every word written on these pages.Life lessons
5By JLO23So much vulnerability, I felt like the stories of my life were being posted on each page. Lessons hard won and painfully clear!Must read!
5By lettucereadSuch a great book. I’m so thankful to have stumbled upon it. Thank you, Cheryl!Average at best
2By ☺️👏😄This book was just average for me. I expected to love it, but it fell short for me. This book was recommended to me. The stories are heartwarming, and it’s well written, but not for me. I found the book boring and most of the advice sections were just too long. Most of the stories were also unrelatable for me. Just not my style. An amazing emotional read
5By BookbruinMy sister recommended this book to me after it was recommended to her by a mutual friend. I had never heard of or read anything about Cheryl Strayed/Dear Sugar, which ended up being a wonderful thing. This book blew me away. Yes, there were uncomfortable parts, and depressing parts, and downright terrible parts, but there were also hopeful and courageous parts, and parts that made my heart a little lighter. Sometimes I got teary eyed and other times I downright ugly cried. This book really had it all and was one of my best reads this year. I loved how the book was broken down into sections and I enjoyed pacing myself through the different "stories". I can definitely see the draw of Strayed's writing style. She is no nonsense and in your face. She is the friend we all need who will give it to you straight and either hold you as you cry or push you to be the person you know you can be. No, I would not follow her advice in every situation, but I liked that I was given the other side of the coin. A viewpoint that I may not have considered in those situations. I have never highlighted a book as many times as I did this one. Every piece had a gem to uncover and I found Strayed's frank honesty refreshing. I will say, that the book may not be for everyone considering the subject matter discussed in some of the pieces and the language used.Must read!

5By kebulmBest book I have read in years. Maybe 20 years. Read it!!!Great, but don't buy on ebook
5By elizmbThis book is amazing and everyone should own a copy. I'm going to be giving it as gifts for years to come. Cheryl Strayed is such an insightful, caring writer. That said, I didn't want to take a star away, but this version has many pages duplicated in a row, and then subsequent pages missing. I recommend buying the print version. Disappointing for Random House. I really wish I hadn't bought the ebook version from iTunes.Loved it!
5By BondenruEvery minute of it!
