1By Miss_ParticularI'd had such high hopes of escaping with this book... I usually can with one of Johanna Lindsey romances. Unfortunately, this book isn't providing me with much of a fantasy outlet. I've read quite a few selections from this author and I'm always left wanting more... I just couldn't get into this book. It's too boring for lack of a better word and after reading it up to chapter twelve I'd had enough, and found myself reading a brand new book from another author just to shake off my dissatisfaction from reading this book. I've never done that before while reading a book by JL and it's disappointing. I'm not going to give the book away but, the heroine is too spoiled and self involved, which makes it hard to feel sorry for her situation. The hero is too good for the heroine and usually that would be a good thing if you actually like the heroine... I couldn't. Next time I will have to read the preview... Never thought I'd have to do that with this author. 😒Ghost Writer?

This is the third book of I call the Locke family, it is placed under the Reid family, but these books are about the Locke's. I love how we see Duncan and Sabrina again. I had hoped this would be book two, but am thrilled with the wait. I think it is the best!!! I feel it is complete. Mrs. Lindsey, I most greatly thank you for this book. You shine the best as far as I am concerned. I truly love these characters, I am now going to read the series backwards. I have all of Mrs. Lindsey's books. I have myself on a reading schedule. I have her books in order. Love your work. Would love to know if Marshal Malory is going to have a love interest next? Or Percy? Am looking forward to this book coming out in paper back. Right now just have it on my IPad.Not the best ...
1By amjoieI couldn't get into this story. That bothered me, because Johanna Lindsey is one of my favorite authors, and I have always loved her style. So I went back and read a few pages from several of her earlier works, just to see if I had become jaded. But I still loved her earlier books, just not this one. in comparison, this book doesn't even match her earlier style. It feels like a completely different author, and one I cannot appreciate. The pacing is different (feeling almost choppy), it relies on lifeless "background past tense" segments, the humor is different, the language is different. It just doesn't feel like her. I'd call it a radical departure from the style that made her one of the best loved authors. If this is any indication of where her books will be going in the future, I will never buy any her books without previewing, again.Wonderful. You just have to love Joanna Lindsey

The dialogue was frankly boring and I ended up skipping through the middle just to finish it! Perhaps a better audience would be high school level readers.Another great book from Lindsey!
