Description
"Maupin's San Francisco saga careens beautifully on." —New York Times Book Review
The fourth novel in the beloved Tales of the City series, Armistead Maupin’s best-selling San Francisco saga.
When an ordinary househusband and his ambitious wife decide to start a family, they discover there’s more to making a baby than meets the eye. Help arrives in the form of a grieving gay neighbor, a visiting monarch, and the dashing young lieutenant who defects from her yacht. Bittersweet and profoundly affecting, Babycakes was the first piece of fiction to acknowledge the arrival of AIDS.

Great Story, Poor iBook
4By PCHomepageThis story is as good as its predecessors. Well-written, a couple new and quite fun characters but the iBook suffers from so many typos that it should be removed until they're corrected. There are so many that they detract from the story and some aren't even words, such as "(he" instead of "the" so it's surprising it even got published in this format.Typos!
4By K8edgeLoved this as much as the previous Takes of The City books, but TONS of typos in this version - it was distracting!Typos!
5By pinkycatsFive stars for the book but like the other reviews .. Too many typos! Does nobody proofread this? This should be corrected and a free new download given.Editor asleep?

3By MacthirstyThe Tales of the City books are incredible character studies and are wonderful reads. However, is ebook is absolutely riddled with glaring typos, sometimes up to 3 on a single page. This needs to be re-transcribed, stat.
