The Third Bullet
2By Ghostrover78Like others I have read all the Bobby Lee Swagger books and looked forward to reading The Third Bullet. Man was I disappointed, story in a story, first third grabbed my attention but the middle up to the end was a big disappointment. I usually read right thru his books but found the dedication to the rifle and bullet boring and painful. Hope Stephen Hunter gets back to his original writing platform and focus on the character development of Bobby or his son in future novelsThe Third Bullet
1By Porter3665Now I've smelled stinkers in my time, this book is higher than a mad dogs privates.Believable
5By Tentman22Story is very well done. Very convincing. Makes you wonder what really happened. The characters come to life and will keep you guessing through the story. The Third Bullet
5By get2mikeIn the past year I have read more than sixty novels and have also read all of Stephen Hunters previous works. Without question this is the most interesting, informative and entertaining book of that period and one of the best in my lifetime. Congratulations Mr. Hunter, I am in your debt for the edification and pure pleasure of the read. I highly recommend that readers of this review make the investment of money and time necessary to join me in completing this journey!Too big a departure
2By Richards193742There should be a caveat on the cover "warning, this is an experiment for me as a writer". I don't buy Hunter for any deep reading. His niche is fast, non-thinking, Swagger action. Hunter needs to get back to his roots or lose his readers and franchise.Third Bullet
4By Moot 32I've read all the Swagger books. While this is a definite departure from Hunter's norm, he spins a good tale and a plausible alternative JFK assassination theory. Well worth the read although it dragged a bit in a couple of area. The Third Bullet
5By WhughboyI have read them all. This one is the best yet. I know Bob Lee is getting old, but I sure hope he can get between a rock and a hard place a couple more times! Maybe he and Jack Reacher could team up and wipe out..........?Third Bullet
2By NorminskyIt was an effort to read. So different from what the authors previous books were like. I appreciate the effort but I just didn't like it.Disappointing
1By My2ToysI have read all Bob Lee Swagger books and really enjoyed each one, eagerly looking forward to the next. But this one is so boring I can hardly plow through it. I'm only half way through and not sure I'll be able to finish it. It's one of the most boring books I've ever tried to read. Where's the Bob Lee smarts & action? So far there's been very little. I'm very disappointed. I never would have bought it had I known it was going to be so slow. The Best!
5By K9PaulI just finished and really enjoyed every page of this book. The author never let's any of us shooters down with inaccurate firearms data. This theory, which would be completely missed or discounted by those unfamiliar with ballistics, definitely holds water. Your next step MUST be to make a movie that holds true to this novel, with an accurately aged and appearing Bob Lee Swagger.
