5By RobotthisRead the abridged version as a child from Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark and was curious what the original was like. While the creature bears little resemblance to the actual indigenous myth, Blackwood does a splendid job of creating something equally terrifying. The tone of this story was so wonderfully creepy, really makes you wonder if you should ever respond to the Call of the Wild.Magical
