Book lacked the stories of Carol's music and inspiration. Too many off sided stories about court battles for road access rights. Next time I hope she tells the story of who Carole King was during the 1960-70's and more about what inspired her

Carole King seems to have had a great life that she enjoys still. This book brings it into focus and makes you a bit envious of her talent and experiences (the good ones, at least). I have a lot of respect for her work, its ability to endure, and her personal ability to endure. If you've enjoyed her songs, I think you'll enjoy and learn from this book.
  • Her songwriting is better

"Girls Like Us" is a much better written and more entertaining biography of Carole King.
