The Regge-Wheeler tortoise "coordinate" and the the Krusikal-Szekeres "extension" are built upon a latent set of invalid assumptions. Consequently, they have led to fallacious conclusions about Einstein's gravitational field. The persistent unjustified claims made for the aforesaid alleged coordinates are not sustained by mathematical rigour. They must therefore be discarded. 1 Introduction
