Description
The wig, the fear, and the weapon; those are the first things Private Investigator Mahayla Breland notices when Emma Chapin walks in her door. All Emma wants is for Mahayla to find her missing son, a man on the run from a Cult that proves to have far darker, more sinister intentions than Mahayla could have ever imagined. What begins as an innocuous missing persons case turns into a deadly game of cat-and-mouse—a game both Mahayla and the Society of the Nines are playing to win.

2By ColbyDubyaJust a average "action" book. Poor descriptives and just bad ideas. "I dared not laugh as to not distract. Once he started he couldn't be stopped". Seems to me you can dare to laugh since it won't phase him. And using a GPS to navigate an apparently touristy town to avoid traffic. Would have been more believable to say she used her wits and experience to navigate. Would make her seem more impressive as a person. My two cents.Mixed feelings on this book
3By SlvrgirlThis is an excellent read but I am not happy with the cliff hanger ending.Mild Review

5By TherWCouldn't put it down! Absolutely brilliant, with never a dull sentence. Now I want to read all of the books this author has written.Forgotten details
3By Turner007Great read. Stayed up late to finish book, but have to read rest of series to actually finish story. There are some issues in the writing: the technology in the 1999 story setting isn't available at the time and whatever happens with the license plate photos!!! That part really drove me insane; did the author forget she mentioned that in the plot?!? There was never any follow up that I feel sure would have led her somewhere...society of the nines
4By samgaspgreat heroine, excellent pacing and interesting story...strangely abrupt ending so lots of dangling threadsGREAT!

5By Book Fan72Page turner all the way. A subtle pychological thriller. Can't wait to see how the series ends.
